Circuit/System Testing

Ignition OFF, inspect the vehicle for signs of inflator module or pretensioner deployment. Verify that the vehicle does not show any signs of inflator deployment.
- If the vehicle displays any signs of inflator deployment go to Repairs and Inspections Required After a Collision .
Use a scan tool and observe the SIR DTC display. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle . The scan tool should indicate DTC B0051 is not set.
- If DTC B0051 is set then replace the SDM. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement in Repair Instructions.
