Installation Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  1. Install the positive battery cable. Route the cable through the engine wiring harness junction block bracket to battery, main side rail, and bussed electrical center (BEC).
  2. Install the battery cable clip bolt (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the negative battery cable clips (4) to the wheelhouse liner.

  4. Install the positive battery cable clip (7) to the bracket.
  5. Install the positive cable clip (3) to the intake manifold.
  6. Install NEW tie straps (8) securing the positive battery cable to the engine harness.
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.
  8. Install the positive battery cable terminal (5) to the starter.
  9. Install the starter solenoid terminal nut (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  10. Install the positive battery cable clip (6) to the intake manifold.
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  12. Install the positive battery cable (1).
  13. Tighten the positive battery cable nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  14. Close the positive battery cable connection cover.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable (2). Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
