Installation Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  1. Install the starter.

    Tighten:  Tighten the 2 bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  2. Install the intake manifold bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the 2 bolts to 8 N.m (70 lb in).

    • Install the wiring harness plug into the bracket.
    • Connect the wiring harness plug for the catalytic converter control oxygen sensor.
  3. Install the wiring harness to the starter.

    Tighten:  Tighten the 2 nuts to 12.5 N.m (110 lb in).

  4. Install the ground cable to the starter.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 12.5 N.m (110 lb in).

  5. Lower the vehicle by its full height.
  6. Connect the battery.

    Install the ground connection to the ground terminal.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 12.5 N.m (110 lb in).

  7. For programming procedures, refer to Control Module References .
  8. Close the hood.
