Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the yaw rate/lateral accelerometer sensor.
- Test for less than 5 ohms of resistance between the low reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test for an open/high resistance in the low reference circuit. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition ON, verify a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the steering angle sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for 0 volt between the CAN bus low circuit terminal 5 and ground at the steering angle sensor connector.
- If greater than the specified value, test the CAN bus low circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for 0 volt between the CAN bus high circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the CAN bus high circuit for a short to voltage.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw rate/lateral sensor.
