Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
    IMPORTANT: Ensure that the boot on the steering gear is not twisted.
  1. Tighten the lock nuts on both tie rods.

    Counterhold at the tie rod using open-ended wrench.

    Tighten:  Tighten the lock nuts to 60 N.m (44 lb ft).

    2. IMPORTANT: The steering wheel must be in the straight-ahead position when inspecting by means of a test drive.
  2. Inspect the wheel toe adjustment.
