Scan Tool Data List

The scan tool can be used to verify button functionality on the infra-red remote control as well as the DVD faceplate buttons. Connect the scan tool, go to entertainment, data display, DVD. Press a button on the remote control and verify the button status changing. Press the faceplate button and verify the button status changing.
IMPORTANT:
The following information lists the most probable cause of the concern to the least probable cause followed by the appropriate test for that condition.
- Dead batteries in the video remote control. Replace the dead batteries.
- Faulty remote control. Test the operation of the system using a known good remote control. If operation is OK, replace the remote control.
- If a known good remote control has been tested and still does not operate the system, then replace the DVD player. Refer to Video Disc Player Replacement
