Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator bracket.
    2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  2. Install the generator bracket bolts and tighten in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  4. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
  6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (LY7)  or Generator Replacement (LE5)  or Generator Replacement (LZ4) .
  8. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
  9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LE5, LE9, LZ4, LZE, or LY7) .
