- Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Steering Wheel Position Sensor Signal 1 and 2 parameters. The readings should be between 0-5 V and change in opposite directions of each other while turning the steering wheel. Each parameter will increase from 0-5 V then decrease from 5-0 V while turning the steering wheel one complete revolution.
- Center the steering wheel; observe the scan tool Steering Wheel Position parameter. The reading should be zero percent and display an increasing positive or negative value while turning the steering wheel off center.
- If the steering wheel position parameter is not at zero percent when centered or does not display an increasing positive or negative value while turning the steering wheel off center perform the steering torque and position sensor calibrations.
C0460 4B
Verify that DTC C0460 4B is not set.
- If the DTC is set, perform the Steering Position Sensor Calibration procedure. If the DTC resets, replace the PSCM.
Steering torque and position sensor calibrations
- Center the steering wheel.IMPORTANT:
After centering the steering wheel, remove hands and other objects from the steering wheel and ensure the suspension is relaxed and no bias, or uneven force is being applied to the steering system.
- Using the scan tool Perform the Steering Position Sensor Calibration procedure.
- Using the scan tool Perform the Torque Sensor Calibration procedure.
- Turn the steering wheel until it stops in each direction.
