Installation Procedure

  1. Place the NEW positive battery cable (4) next to the negative battery cable (3).
  2. Install NEW tape (1) securing the positive cable to the negative cable.
  3. Place the positive battery cable assembly into position in the vehicle as noted during removal.

  4. Install the positive battery cable (3) to the battery.
    5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Tighten the positive battery cable nut (2) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Position positive battery cable lead (4) to the UBEC and tighten the integral bolt (5) to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  7. Install the UBEC cover (1).

  8. Install the battery positive cable extension cable lead (3) to the positive battery cable.
  9. Install the battery positive cable extension cable nut (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  10. Close the positive battery cable cover (1).

  11. Install the positive battery cable clip (2) to the oil level indicator tube bracket (1).

  12. Raise and suitably support the vehicle.
  13. Install the positive battery cable lead (2) to the starter motor.
  14. Install the positive battery cable to starter motor nut (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  15. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the starter.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT) .
