Removal Procedure

  1. Reposition the underhood electrical center. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .
  2. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement (Pontiac) or Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement (Chevrolet) or Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement (Buick) .
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the washer pumps.
  4. Disconnect the washer hose connections at the front and rear washer pumps.
  5. Contain the washer solvent in a suitable container.
  6. Disconnect the 2 front engine wiring harness connections from the wiring harness.
  7. Remove the bolts from the fender flange and inner wheelhouse.
  8. Lower the washer container into the engine compartment.
  9. Carefully pull the forward engine harness over the top of the washer container spout.
  10. Remove the washer solvent container (2) from the engine compartment.
  11. Transfer the following components:
    • Cap
    • Front washer pump
    • Rear washer pump, if equipped
