Removal Procedure

  1. If equipped with a 2.4L engine remove the exhaust manifold pipe. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement (LAT) .
  2. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.6L engine, remove the catalytic converters. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LY7)  and Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LZ4)  or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side (LY7) .
  3. Separate the first two muffler insulators from the hangers and support the muffler pipe.
  4. Remove the heat shield nuts.
  5. Remove the heat shield.
