Installation Procedure

  1. Install the reservoir to the pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement - Off Vehicle (CB Series) .
  2. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement .

  3. Install the pump to the vehicle.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the power steering pump bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering return hose to the pump.

  6. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the pump.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fitting to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).

  7. Install the engine electrical harness to the reservoir retainers.
  8. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in engine mechanical 3.5 L or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in engine mechanical 3.9 L.
  9. Install the accessory drive belt to the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in engine mechanical 3.5L or Drive Belt Replacement in engine mechanical 3.9 L.
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
