Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: Make certain that the steering wheel inflatable restraint retaining clips (1) are in the correct position when installing the steering wheel shroud.
  1. Install the steering wheel shroud and screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the steering wheel shroud screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  2. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement  in Steering Wheel and Column.
  3. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Redline) or Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (Except Redline) in SIR.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in SIR.
