Removal & Installation: Generator: Installation

  1. Position generator and install the top bolts finger tight.
  2. Install the bottom bolts and tighten all generator bolts. Tighten generator-to-engine bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Connect and tighten battery cable connection at the generator. Tighten to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install accessory drive belt.
  5. Install throttle body air duct.
  6. Connect and tighten negative battery cable to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Reprogram radio stations.


  1. Guide generator into the engine block with the upper mounting bolt positioned in the generator.
  2. Position generator and finger tighten the upper mounting bolt.
  3. Raise vehicle on hoist.
  4. Install lower generator mounting bolt. Tighten generator assembly-to-engine block bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Connect electrical connections. Tighten B+ cable-to-generator nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  6. Lower vehicle.
  7. Tighten upper generator mounting bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  8. Install belt tensioner to engine block. Tighten belt tensioner bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Install accessory drive belt.
  10. Connect negative battery cable. Tighten battery terminal bolt to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  11. Reprogram radio stations.
