Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to BATTERY DISCONNECT CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  3. Remove the SIR coil. Refer to SIR COIL ASSEMBLY in Air Bag Restraint Systems.

  4. Remove the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .

  5. Depress the lock tabs on the left and right multi-function levers. Remove the multi-function levers.

  6. Disconnect the housing electrical connectors.

  7. Remove the housing form the steering column.
