Control Valve Body: Installation
- Ensure check balls are in proper locations on channel plate. See Fig 1 . Retain check balls with petroleum jelly.
- Install a NEW spacer plate-to-channel plate gasket onto channel plate.
- Install spacer plate with spacer plate filter attached.
- Hand start spacer plate support bolts, and install spacer plate support. See Figure . Tighten spacer plate support bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install a NEW control valve body-to-spacer plate gasket onto spacer plate.
- Install control valve body assembly onto gasket. Hand start control valve body assembly bolts, to hold valve body in place. See Figure .
- Inspect TFP switch assembly in order to verify condition and correct location of pressure switch "O" rings. If necessary, replace TFP switch assembly "O" rings.
- Install TFP switch assembly onto control valve body assembly. Install remaining control valve body bolts. See Fig 2 and Fig 3 .
- Hand start bolts. Tighten control valve body bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect transaxle wiring harness to following components:
- TFP switch assembly.
- Pressure control solenoid (Red connector).
- TCC solenoid.NOTE: 1-2 shift solenoid wires are Red and Green and 2-3 shift solenoid wires are Red and Yellow.
- 1-2 shift solenoid.
- 2-3 shift solenoid.
For shift solenoid identification, refer to illustration. See Figure .
- Install oil pump shaft into control valve body assembly.NOTE: If necessary, rotate oil pump shaft while installing oil pump assembly in order to engage shaft splines to splines on oil pump rotor.
- Install oil pump assembly onto oil pump shaft and control valve body. Install and hand start oil pump assembly bolts. See Figure . Tighten oil pump bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install transaxle case side cover. See TRANSAXLE CASE SIDE COVER .
- Start engine. Warm up transaxle, and check for leaks. Check for proper fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS under LUBRICATION.
