Intake Plenum (3.0L): Removal

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove air intake hose between air cleaner housing and throttle body. Disconnect harness connectors and vacuum hoses from intake plenum as necessary. Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator.
  2. Remove intake plenum hose clamps using Universal Clamp Pliers (J43914). Remove front (bank 2) intake manifold runner. See INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER (3.0L)  . Remove intake plenum mounting bolts and EGR pipe connection. Lift plenum and remove throttle body coolant hoses. Remove throttle body, if necessary.
