Fuel Tank: Installation

Install fuel tank heat shield and fuel tank assembly into vehicle.

Install fuel tank straps and tighten bolts
Torque:

Fuel Tank Strap-to-Body Bolts: 25 N.m (18 ft-lbs)

Install fuel filler pipe, EVAP vent, and fresh air hoses to fuel tank.
Install fuel tank ground strap fastener (by fuel filter).
Torque:

Ground Strap-to-Body Bolt: 8 N.m (71 in-lbs)

Connect EVAP canister vent and fresh air hoses to fuel tank hoses.
IF EQUIPPED, install propeller shaft.
IF EQUIPPED, install propeller shaft guard.

Install rubber exhaust hangers.

Lower vehicle from hoist.
Fill fuel tank with gasoline.
Connect the negative battery cable.
Torque:

Battery Terminal Bolt: 17 N.m (13 ft-lbs)
Prime fuel system.
1. 12.1 Cycle ignition On for 5 seconds and then Off for 10 seconds.
2. 12.2 Repeat previous step twice.
3. 12.3 Crank engine until it starts (maximum starter motor cranking time is 20 seconds).
4. 12.4 If engine does not start, repeat steps 12.1-12.3.
