Circuit Description

Ignition switch supplies ignition voltage to Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) at SDM connector, terminal A1 from IGN1 fuse, located in underhood fuse block on left side of engine compartment. SDM responds by flashing AIR BAG warning light 7 times, while performing tests on SIR system. If Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is detected, SDM will command Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) to turn AIR BAG warning light on. If no DTCs are detected, AIR BAG warning light will turn off after 7 flashes.
