Checking Fluid Levels

  1. It is not necessary to check fluid level unless fluid has been changed or a leak is suspected. If transaxle is hot, allow sufficient time to cool before checking fluid level.
  2. Park vehicle on level ground with engine off. Flip the handle up and then pull out the dipstick. Wipe the dipstick clean with a rag or paper towel.
  3. Push the dipstick back in all the way and then remove it. Check both sides of the dipstick, and read the lower level. The fluid level must be in the cross-hatched area.
  4. If the fluid level is in the cross-hatched area on the dipstick, then push the dipstick back in all the way and flip down the handle to lock it in place.
  5. If the fluid level is below the "ADD" mark, then add only enough fluid to bring the fluid level up to the middle of the cross-hatched area on the dipstick. See RECOMMENDED FLUIDS  .
