Description & Operation
The axle shaft assembly uses an inner tripot joint and an outer Constant Velocity (CV) inner and outer race joint connected by a shaft. See Fig 1 .
Tripot joint assembly has a splined end and connects to the transaxle. The CV inner and outer race joint assembly connects to the hub assembly. On the right side, drive axle incorporates an intermediate shaft to allow both right and left drive axles to be of same length. The tripot joint assembly and the CV joint assembly can be removed and disassembled for overhaul.
