Removal & Installation: Console: Removal

1. Disable SIR system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. Apply parking brake lever.
2. Remove window mirror switch (if equipped) by performing the following:
   • Exert pressure on rear of window mirror switch with hand.
   • Pry up with blunt tool at rear retainer assembly tabs. See Fig 1 .
   • Lift window mirror switch up and out. See Fig 2 .
   • Disconnect electrical connector by locating retention tabs and disengaging connectors.
3. Adjust front seats to most forward position. Remove rear console screws. See Fig 3 . Adjust front seats to most rearward position. Remove left and right lower trim panel extensions by pulling outward at dual lock locations. See Fig 4 .
4. Rotate panels outward to disengage hinges from console. Remove front console screws. See Fig 5 . Move console rearward. Disengage retaining tabs and disconnect power outlet connector.
5. Maneuver console beyond gear selector and parking brake by lifting rear of console. See Fig 6 . Remove console from vehicle.
