Manual Shift Shaft Assembly: Installation
- Place manual shift shaft assembly in a soft jaw vise and install transaxle range switch, control lever, and control lever nut. See Figure . Tighten transaxle control lever-to-manual detent shaft nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Slide manual shift shaft assembly into transaxle case. Install manual detent lever, manual valve link, and park pawl lever. See Figure . With a pair of pliers, hold control lever to prevent manual detent lever shaft from turning, and install manual detent lever shaft inner nut.
- Prevent manual shift shaft from rotating by holding control lever and install manual shift shaft inner nut. When installing inner nut, take care not to drop nut into transaxle by placing a rag under nut to catch it. Tighten manual detent lever-to-manual detent shaft nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . See Figure .
- Install transaxle range switch bolts, connect electrical connectors and follow the transaxle range switch adjustment procedures. See PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH under ADJUSTMENTS. Install valve body and valve body cover. See VALVE BODY .
