Diagnostic Aids
Most likely cause of DTC is a stuck open EVAP purge solenoid. Use scan tool to command EVAP PURGE SOLENOID on. Solenoid should click at an even rate. Replace solenoid if solenoid intermittently sticks.
PCM uses fuel tank pressure sensor to detect amount of vacuum pulled on EVAP system during the EVAP purge diagnostic. Ensure fuel pressure sensor is not skewed by verifying FUEL TANK PRESSURE on scan tool. Scan tool should indicate 1.3-1.7 volts with ignition on and fuel cap removed.
EVAP purge solenoid resistance should be 19-31 ohms.
