Removal & Installation

  1. Turn ignition off. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect Knock Sensor (KS) harness connector. KS is located on side of engine block, near starter. See Figure, Figure or Fig 1 . Remove KS mounting bolt. Remove KS from engine block.
    2. NOTE: Ensure that the larger metal contact area of the KS is facing engine block. A DTC will set if sensor is installed backwards.
  2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten KS mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect KS harness connector. Lower vehicle.
