Idle Air Control Valve: Installation

CAUTION: The IAC valve may be damaged if installed with pintle not retracted. Retract pintle using scan tool. PCM will go through an IAC relearn once the new valve is installed.
  1. Lubricate IAC valve "O" ring with clean engine oil. Install IAC valve "O" ring on IAC valve. Install IAC valve. Install IAC valve mounting screws and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Reconnect IAC valve harness connector. Reinstall air induction pipe.
  2. Perform the following IAC valve learn procedure. Start and warm engine to normal operating temperature. Vary engine speed slowly between idle and 3500 RPM 2-3 times. Engine idle will then stabilize.
