Fuel Tank: Installation

  1. Position and support the fuel tank with the aid of an assistant. Install fuel tank straps. Install fuel tank strap bolts. Tighten fuel tank strap bolts to specificationm. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect fuel sender harness connector.
  2. Install the fuel sender electrical harness into the retainers. Install the fuel and EVAP retainer to the frame. Connect the EVAP pipe to the EVAP canister. Connect the fuel feed pipe and the fuel return pipe. Install the rear suspension support assembly. See appropriate REAR article in SUSPENSION. Connect fuel filler hose to fuel filler pipe. Tighten clamp to specification.
  3. Install filler pipe opening cover. Lower vehicle. Add fuel to fuel tank. Install fuel tank filler pipe cap. Connect the negative battery cable. Perform the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks. Turn ignition on for 2 seconds. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Turn ignition switch on, with engine off. Inspect for fuel leaks.
