Preparation For Disassembly

TOOLS REQUIRED

SA9123E Gasket Seal Cutter

Mount the engine on a stand.

Remove all accessories and components:
1. Engine wire harness
2. Starter
3. Generator
4. Water pump
5. Oil pressure sending unit
6. Knock sensor
7. Crankshaft position sensor
8. Flexplate or clutch assembly and flywheel
9. Oil pan and filter
  IMPORTANT: Use Gasket Seal Cutter SA9123E to cut the oil pan seal away from the engine block. Pry at pry points only.
10. Oil pickup tube
