Ignition Module/PASSLOCK Sensor: Removal
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to DISABLING SYSTEM
.
- Remove lock cylinder bezel from steering column shroud by carefully prying with a thin bladed screwdriver.

- Remove steering column upper shroud panel.

- Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and rotate to START position. Then rotate cylinder back to the RUN position.
- Depress the locking button on the top of ignition module assembly with a thin pick-type tool. Slide lock cylinder assembly from ignition module.

- Remove shroud fasteners and remove steering column lower shroud panel.

- Disconnect ignition switch connector and remove ignition switch from ignition module.

- Remove park lock solenoid.

- Remove turn signal/headlamp lever, windshield washer lever, and passlock sensor connector.

- Remove ignition module shear bolts.

- Use a light hammer and a chisel to bite into shear bolt head at a position offset from its center.

- Tap the chisel to rotate the bolt and loosen it.
- Repeat until bolt is loose enough to remove.
- Remove ignition module assembly from the steering column.
