Diagnostic Procedures (Before VIN 1Z200000)

NOTE: If DTC P0324 or P0325 is also set, diagnose DTC P0324 or P0325 first. See DTC P0324 OR P0325: KNOCK SENSOR SYSTEM .
  1. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Start and accelerate engine to 3500 RPM for 10 seconds. Using scan tool, monitor status of DTC P0327 LAST TEST. If LAST TEST failed, go to next step. If LAST TEST did not fail, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
  2. Turn engine off. Disconnect KS harness connector. See Figure or Figure . Turn ignition on, with engine off. Using a DVOM, check voltage between ground and both KS harness connector terminals. If voltage is not present in either circuit, go to next step. If voltage is present on either circuits, repair short to voltage in affected circuit.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM harness connector J1. Check continuity between ground and KS harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Light Blue wire). Check continuity between KS harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Light Blue wire). If continuity exists on any of the circuit, repair short to ground or to each other in affected circuit. If continuity does not exist on any of the circuit, go to next step.
  4. Check continuity on both circuits (Dark Blue wire and Light Blue wire). If continuity exists on both circuits, check connectors. If connectors are okay, replace knock sensor. If continuity does not exist on both circuits, repair open in affected circuit.
