Diagnostic Procedure
NOTE:
If DTC P0444, P0445, P0447 or P0448 is set, diagnose that DTC first. An EVAP purge solenoid circuit fault may have caused this DTC to set.
- Turn ignition on, engine off. Remove fuel cap. Using scan tool, monitor FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR. If voltage is 1.3-1.7 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 0.1 volt, see DTC P0452: EVAP FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - LOW VOLTAGE . If voltage is 0.1-1.3 volts or 1.7-4.9 volts, replace fuel tank pressure sensor. If voltage is greater than 4.9 volts, see DTC P0453: EVAP FUEL TANK PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT - HIGH VOLTAGE .
- Install fuel cap. Using scan tool, command EVAP SYSTEM SEAL on. Start engine. Using scan tool, monitor FUEL TANK PRES. SENSOR for 30 seconds. If voltage increases greater than 1.7 volts, replace EVAP purge solenoid. If voltage does not increase greater than 1.7 volts, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
