Description & Operation
The axle shaft assembly uses an inner tripot joint and an outer Constant Velocity (CV) inner and outer race joint connected by a shaft. See Fig 1 .
Left tripot joint assembly has a splined male end connected to the transaxle. Right tripot joint has a splined female end connected to an intermediate shaft. Intermediate shaft has a splined end and connects to the transaxle.
The CV inner and outer race joint assembly connects to the hub assembly. The tripot joint assembly and the CV joint assembly can be removed and disassembled for overhaul.
