PURPOSE
The purpose of this bulletin is to update the SIRS section of the 2000/2001 S-Series Restraints Service Manuals.
Please obtain all 2000/2001 S-Series Restraints Service Manuals at your location and make the necessary updates as indicated below.
- Cross out Cross-car Beam with marker or pen on page 123 in the Accident With Frontal Air Bag Deployment - Component Replacement And Inspections service information. This term is in the bulleted list half way down the page.
- Make a photo copy of this bulletin.
- Cross out CURTAIN INFLATOR MODULE definition on page 121.
- Write in the following with marker or pen under the existing definition. Refer to Technical Information Bulletin 01-T-03.
- Insert a copy of this bulletin between pages 120 and 121.

REVISED DEFINITION CURTAIN INFLATOR MODULE - An assembly located beneath the instrument panel upper trim cover attached to the cross-car beam consisting of an inflatable air bag and an inflator (a canister of gas-generated material and an initiator).
