Diagnostic Procedure
- Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, monitor Passlock™ input. If voltage is less than .4 volt, go to next step. If voltage is .4 volt or more, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Disconnect Passlock™ sensor connector. If voltage is more than 4.3 volts, replace Passlock™ sensor. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. If voltage is 4.3 volts or less, go to next step.
- Disconnect BCM connectors J3 (Brown) and J2 (Light Blue). Check for continuity between BCM harness connector J2 terminal "A7" (Yellow wire), BCM harness connector J3 terminal "B03" (Black wire) and ground. See Figure and Figure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If continuity exists, repair short to ground or short between circuits. If continuity does not exist, replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article.
