Control Cable: Removal

  1. Disable Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION. Remove console. See CONSOLE .
  2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect control cable from control assembly. Remove control cable retaining clip. Depress tabs on control cable and remove cable from control assembly. See Fig 1.
  3. Disconnect control cable from transaxle range switch lever. Remove control cable retaining clip. See Fig 2.
  4. Depress 2 tabs on control cable and remove cable from control cable bracket. Remove control cable grommet from dash panel. See Fig 3. Remove control cable from control cable bracket.
