Diagnostic Procedure

  1. Perform Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system check. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Roll windows down. Attempt to lock doors using door interior switches. If doors lock with both driver and passenger door switches, go to next step. If doors do not lock with both driver and passenger door switches, check lock relay located in right instrument panel fuse block. Replace as necessary. If lock relay is okay, replace BCM. See appropriate BODY CONTROL MODULES article. Repeat REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Using scan tool, monitor all LOCK RELAY FEEDBACK while commanding lock relay ON and OFF. If feedback does not follow command, repair open in Gray wire between lock relay and door lock motors. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repeat REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. If feedback follows command, problem is intermittent, see DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  . Repeat REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
