Lock Function Inoperative/Unlock Function Operates Normally

  1. Perform Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system check. See RKE SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS. Roll windows down. Attempt to lock doors using door interior switches. If doors lock with both driver and passenger door lock switches, go to next step. If doors do not lock with both driver and passenger door lock switches, replace lock relay located in instrument panel junction block. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Backprobing, measure voltage between ground and RKE module 16-pin Black connector terminal "B" (Light Blue wire). See Figure and Figure . Press LOCK button on transmitter and go to next step.
  3. If battery voltage exists when LOCK button is pressed, check for short to ground in Light Blue wire between RKE module 16-pin Black connector terminal "B" and instrument panel junction block Gray, 68-Pin connector terminal B12. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. If wire is okay, replace RKE module. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS. If battery voltage does not exist when LOCK button is pressed, check for open in Light Blue wire between RKE module 16-pin Black connector terminal "B" and instrument panel junction block Gray, 68-Pin connector terminal B12. See WIRING DIAGRAMS. Repeat RKE SYSTEM CHECK under SYSTEM TESTS.
