Fuel Injector (TBI): Installation

NOTE: It is important to replace a fuel injector with an identical part. Injectors may look alike, but are calibrated for different flow rates and are NOT interchangeable.
  1. Apply a thin coat of oil to NEW upper and lower injector "O" rings. Install "O" rings on injector. Install NEW lower injector insulator into injector cavity. Insert injector straight down into TBI unit. DO NOT twist injector.
  2. Carefully install injector cover with harness connector to TBI unit, and tighten mounting screws. Tighten air cleaner stud bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Pressurize fuel system and check for leaks.
