Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor: Removal

1. Turn ignition off.
NOTE: The connector must be removed by squeezing the sides. Apply pressure to sides of connector gently with pliers. Do not pull wires.
2. Drain coolant below level of ECT sensor. Disconnect electrical connector from engine coolant temperature sensor. See Fig 1 .
3. Remove engine coolant temperature sensor using a deep-well socket.
