Driver-Side Inflator Module: Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 7 other vehicles, including the 1996 Saturn SW2, 1996 Saturn SW1, 1996 Saturn SL2, 1996 Saturn SL1, and 1996 Saturn SL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect inflator module to wiring harness and install integral connector lock device. See Figure .
    NOTE: Always replace inflator module fasteners with new fasteners. Never reuse old fasteners.
  2. Install inflator module into steering wheel and torque fasteners, being careful not to cross thread fasteners. See Figure . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Snap on screw covers. Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Ensure proper system function. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
