Lever Control Switch Assembly: Removal

1. Before proceeding, disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Set front wheels in straight-ahead position. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove air bag module and steering wheel. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. See STEERING WHEEL .
2. Remove SIR coil assembly. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Remove Data Link Connector (DLC) screws. Pull steering column filler panel forward and set down. Disconnect hood release cable. Pull hood release handle forward, remove cable, and slide pin out.
3. Remove steering column filler panel. Disconnect lever control switch connectors. See Fig 1. Remove lever control switch assembly.
4. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
