Steering Column Switches: Description

article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
Lever control switch assembly, mounted on end of column, houses 2 main switches. See Fig 1. Left switch incorporates turn signal, hazard flasher and headlight switches. Right switch is the wiper switch.
Ignition switch is attached to lock cylinder. Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system uses a SIR coil assembly mounted to lever control switch assembly, under steering wheel.
