Wiper Motor/Module: Installation

  1. Connect wiring to new motor and turn switch on. Turn off switch. This will place motor in PARK position. Place wiper motor onto control module. Position crank arm at 9 o'clock position and install on wiper motor shaft. Apply Loctite to crank arm attaching nut and tighten to 21 ft. lbs. (28 N.m)
  2. Partially install wiper module in vehicle. Connect wiring to motor and module. Install motor/module assembly. Tighten screws to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m). Turn switch on momentarily, then turn off. Wiper arm should be in PARK position with crank arm at 9 o'clock position. Connect washer fluid hose (if equipped). Install cowl trim panel. Install wiper arms.
  3. Rotate defroster nozzle into mode valve assembly and install screws. Ensure nozzle is attached on both sides of A/C-heater case. Install upper trim panel into clips at windshield. Install trim panel screws and screw caps. Test wiper operation.
