Coolant Temperature Gauge

  1. Disconnect coolant temperature sensor connector located on left upper front of engine. Connect DVOM and Tester (SA9205Z) to coolant temperature sensor connector terminal and ground. With engine off, turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. Coolant temperature gauge should indicate between cold and hot depending on resistance setting. See COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE RESISTANCE table. Test coolant temperature gauge beginning with cold resistance setting to hot resistance setting.
  3. If coolant temperature gauge does not operate as specified, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
