Anti-Lock Brake Control Assembly (ABCA): Removal
ABCA is located in front of booster. See Figure . Remove battery box, battery tray, and battery. Unplug connectors from solenoid valves. Remove locking pin and connector from motor pack. Take care not to bend brakelines. Remove brakeline fittings. Plug openings. Remove Anti-Lock Brake Control Assembly (ABCA) nuts. Working carefully to avoid bending brakelines, remove ABCA.
NOTE:
DO NOT
attempt to repair damaged motor packs or modulator assemblies. Other than modulator drive gear replacement, repair of these assemblies is not authorized. DO NOT
lubricate or oil motor pack assembly.
CAUTION:
The modulator drive gears are under spring load and will turn during disassembly. After removing modulator drive gear cover, exercise extreme care not to place fingers into gear set, since fingers can be pinched by rotating gears.
NOTE:
It is not necessary to completely disassemble the ABS brake control assembly if only the motor pack is being replaced. Go to step 2 of Disassembly procedure then to step 4 of Assembly procedure.
