Actuator Quick Check
- Check level and condition of transaxle fluid. Check PCM memory for any stored trouble codes. If no trouble codes are present, go to next step. If codes are present, diagnose and repair all PCM related trouble codes. Clear PCM trouble code memory.NOTE: On 1992 models, an "oil life left percent" can be displayed on scan tool. After changing transaxle fluid, use Saturn PDT to reset this parameter to zero.
- If no codes are present, use Saturn PDT to ensure all selector switch (PRND32) positions are correct. Jumper terminals "A" and "B" of the diagnostic connector. See Figure .
- With key on and engine off, move gear selector to each gear position. This should cause a specific line actuator to operate. See LINE ACTUATOR SELECT table.
- If the line actuator is operating, you will hear it operate at a fixed duty cycle for 6 seconds and then click on and off. The clicking will repeat until the next gear is selected or ignition turned off.
