Intermittent Cruise Operation
- Plug in Cruise Control/Cluster Tester. Turn cruise switch on. Release brake pedal. Place cruise tester in ROAD MODE position. Turn ignition on, engine off. Press initialize button on tester.
- Raise both front wheels of vehicle off ground. Rotate steering wheel from lock to lock slowly while observing LEDs on tester. If any LEDs on tester turn off, check connections at cruise slip rings and cruise switch. If connections are good, replace slip rings.
- If no LEDs on tester turned off, gently wiggle wiring between cruise control module and brake switch, clutch switch, slip rings, PCM, power and ground.
- If any LEDs on tester turn off, determine which connector or terminal is responsible. Repair or replace connectors or terminals as necessary. If no LEDs on tester turned off, go to ROAD TEST DIAGNOSIS.
