Code 13 - High Line Pressure (1992): Description
The PCM modulates line pressure by grounding line pressure actuator. As duty cycle decreases (circuit is more open), line pressure increases. As duty cycle is increased (circuit is grounded more), line pressure decreases. When PCM lowers line pressure, this causes gear shifts to take more time. A code 13 will be set if transaxle oil temperature is above 104°F (40°C) and PCM detects that shifts occur too fast even though line pressure has been commanded low.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to numbers on diagnostic chart.
- If present, go to information flag listed. Using flow charts, check for possible causes of trouble code.
- See ACTUATOR QUICK CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTICS.
- See HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS in AUTO TRANS OVERHAUL - SATURN article.
- If line pressure does not change or only changes a little, regulator valve is stuck. If necessary, see HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS in AUTO TRANS OVERHAUL - SATURN article.
