Dynamic Test

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel harness connector.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel terminal 2 and ground.
  3. If not within the specified value, test the wiring harness for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, test for less than 5 Ω between S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel terminal 6 and ground.
  5. If not within the specified value, test the wiring harness for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
  6. Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Suspension System Mode parameter while installing a 3 A fused jumper wire between the S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel terminal 5 and ground. Verify the reading changes between Normal/Sport Mode.
  7. If the parameter does not change between the specified values, test the wiring harness for short to voltage, short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
  8. Ignition OFF, connect a test lamp to S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel terminal 6 and ground.
  9. Ignition ON, the test lamp has to illuminate while installing a 3 A fused jumper wire between the S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel terminal 5 and ground.
  10. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the sport mode LED signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  11. If the circuit test normal, replace the S48C Multifunction Switch 1 - Instrument Panel.
