Installation Procedure

Install the following components if fuel tank replacement was necessary:
- The primary fuel tank module-Refer to PRIMARY FUEL TANK MODULE REPLACEMENT (NA3, NE9, NF9) or PRIMARY FUEL TANK MODULE REPLACEMENT (NT7, NU5) .
- The secondary fuel tank module-Refer to Secondary Fuel Tank Module Replacement .
Raise the fuel tank (3) to the vehicle.

Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER
Ensure the fuel tank straps are seated properly. Install the fuel tank straps (2) and bolts (1) then tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb ft) .
Connect the evaporative emission line (1) to the canister.

Connect the fuel tank electrical connector (1).

Connect the fuel line and evaporative emission line connectors (2). Refer to PLASTIC COLLAR QUICK CONNECT FITTING SERVICE .
Connect the evaporative emission line (1). Refer to PLASTIC COLLAR QUICK CONNECT FITTING SERVICE .

Install the filler pipe and tighten both hose clamps (2) to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
Perform a leak down test. Refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS .
If required, install the propeller shaft. Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT REPLACEMENT .
Install the exhaust system. Refer to EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LAU) or EXHAUST MUFFLER REPLACEMENT (LF1) .
Refill the fuel tank.
Inspect for fuel leaks.
